Acenta Steel Ltd employs approximately 350 people throughout its various divisions and has a proud history originating from Organisations established independently in the late 19th and early 20th century. Hot Rolled can be traced back to George Gadd in Tipton, 1865 whilst Bright Bar was established across four Organisations pre and post the Second World War. The Distribution division was established in 1923 under the Macreadys brand. Successive corporate acquisitions culminated in the rebranding of the name to ACENTA and the Management taking ultimate ownership in March 2013. A new trading division, Acenta Steel Services, commenced operation in January 2014. Bright Bar Acenta Bright Bar Division is one of Europes major bright bar producers, manufacturing a unique range of products including Round, Hexagon, Square and Flat cold drawn steel bars. The manufacturing process encompasses the use of established industry standard techniques and processes including Shot blasting, Bar turning, Cold Drawing, Sawing, Straightening and Steel storage. Hot Rolled Acenta Hot Rolled Division can be traced back to George Gadd in Tipton, 1865 and specialise in the production of hot rolled bars and sections from billets and blooms using traditional hot rolling techniques. Steel produced at Hot Rolled are distributed throughout the UK, European Union & USA Distribution Acenta Steel Distribution Divisons were estblished in 1923 when it formaly traded Macreadys. Since that time the Distribution Division has grown and is now estabihed through out the UK have 5 sales offices and 4 distribution sites based at Rugby, Newport, Bolton, Southampton and Sunderland. The distibution divisions are predomanatly steel stockholders, and to facilitate the needs of the customer each site offers a cutting and delivery service
