Established March 1995 the Adelaide Cancer Centre is now the largest private oncology facility in South Australia, comprising a 27 chair unit operated by Icon Cancer Care and close ties with Ashford Hospital. Adelaide Cancer Centre offers a friendly and relaxed environment where patients undergo day treatment, medical consultation and support. We are unique in that we provide an integrated consultation, treatment and support centre for patients with cancer. Our aim is to minimise the inconvenience of obtaining support services from several different locations and we are committed to excellence in patient care and clinical research. A subsidiary practice is located at Burnside Hospital and Calvary Central Districts Private Hospital. Our professional team consists of Medical Oncologists, Consultant Haematologists, Palliative Care Consultants, General Practitioner, Nurse Practitioners, Counseller and experienced nursing staff. Our services include: Quality, individualised care for all patients from diagnosis through ongoing treatment Co-located consulting rooms and day infusion centre 7 day 24-hour telephone advice and on-call facilities Treatment centre staffed by specialist oncology nurses and owned and operated by Icon Cancer Care Access to clinical research After-hours medical services Emergency and intensive care facilities at Ashford Hospital Self-help and support groups Community and education resources Access to Accident and Emergency Department The Centre also provides some car parking, snacks, coffee and tea facilities, telephones and access to appropriate literature.
