AFA Fostering

Anglia Fostering Agency (AFA Fostering) is an Independant Fostering Provider based in East Anglia and the East Midlands, with a Head Office in Norwich and an Area Office in Castle Donington near Derby. AFA was incorporated in 2009 and began operating in March 2010. It is now an established service provider in its core areas of East Anglia and the East Midlands. AFA recruits, trains and supports high quality foster carers to offer the best foster care to children and young people "Looked After" by Local Authority Children's Services. AFA began by delivering a wide range of mainstream or core foster placements, this was followed by:- In 2013 AFA established a Therapeutic Fostering service. This service provides Therapeutic family placements for young people who are able to live in a family setting but due to their therapeutic needs would only normally find these met in a residential setting. It also provides the opportunity for young people in these communities to be able to move to families when they are ready to. In 2014 AFA developed another new service, Parent and Child Assessment Fostering. This provides specially trained Foster Families who can provide a family setting for young parents to be mentored and assessed. The service is managed by a highly experienced Social Worker who as well as supporting the Foster Carers and the parents is able to provide comprehensive assessments to Local Authorities for use in Court Proceedings. AFA is wholly owned by it's two founding Directors, each of who between them have over 70 years experience working in Social Work and Foster Care for both the Public and Private sectors. Our recent Ofsted inspection in January 2018 gave us an overall rating "GOOD" with "AREAS OUTSTANDING for Children and Young People.
