Afrihost

Afrihost is not a story of products, strategies or market-share, but a story of friendship and determination. Afrihost is the brainchild of best friends Gian Visser, Brendan Armstrong and Peter Meintjes, who had a dream of building a company, free of corporate shackles, that would delight their clients with excellent service and amazing products. Afrihost Was Born! Their vision was also to grow and nurture their employees to help them create this culture within their company. Along the way they found the missing piece to their plan, Greg Payne, who added his considerable experience and business savvy to create a perfect balance of strategy and innovation, which has made Afrihost the runaway success it is today. Visser, Armstrong and Meintjes grew up together, having all attended the same school. While they each followed different academic paths, they shared a common passion for technology and the Internet. After embarking on their respective careers, they maintained a close relationship, and began tinkering with Linux Web Hosting in the late 90’s. After each individually establishing small startup companies, they decided to join forces and launch Afrihost, a Web Hosting and IT services company that reflected their personal values of service and product excellence - not driven by profit, but rather by client and employee satisfaction (which had often brought them in conflict with their former corporate employers).
