Aidis Trust

Aidis Trust is a UK charity that helps disabled people to use computer technology. Technology plays an important role in society and provides a powerful tool to help people communicate, learn, shop and play. However, there are many disabled people who are unable to take advantage of these opportunities due to difficulties in accessing it. Our charity’s aim is to enable access to such technologies and to develop the skills and confidence to help them move ahead in life and become more independent. We achieve this through our free services such as: Everyone Can Game, a service designed to help disabled people play video games together, by carefully sourcing the games ensure they are both accessible, sociable and of course enjoyable, whilst also addressing any issues people may have accessing the gaming platforms. The Helpline operates to provide immediate advice and training on using any aspect of computer-based technology, such as alternative ways to access or use technology. Our Technology Roadshows are provided for those who wish to see and experience the technology for themselves in a relaxed and informative environment. Such examples are controlling computers by voice, eye or body movement and software to help visually impaired and people with learning disabilities to interact with computer-based technology. We also support ways in which the latest mainstream technologies can be accessed, such as mobile devices and home automation.
