About the Alberta College of Paramedics The Alberta College of Paramedics is the regulatory body for paramedicine profession in Alberta. Legislated under the Health Professions Act (HPA) the College is designated to govern and regulate three levels of practice: • Emergency Medical Responders (EMR), • Primary Care Paramedics (PCP), and • Advanced Care Paramedics (ACP). In addition to regulation, the College also oversees professional conduct. PURPOSE Ensure public trust and safety through the regulation of the paramedic profession.
