Alegria means joy or happiness, and that is exactly what we love to do for our students - bring joy back into their lives through dance! We meet our students where they're at when they come through the doors, some have 2 left feet, while some have been dancing for years! Rather than a one size fits all dance class, we take the time to connect with each student, and help them get to where they would love to be. For some, this looks like finding a new community to belong to and make some new friends, for others its to reconnect with their partner, and for some they simply adore the art of dance! We are committed to providing dancers with a welcoming, and positive space to learn to dance through our firm beliefs of, growth, authenticity, collaboration, and optimism. Alegria Dance Company is a proud member of the Hamilton Arts Council, and the Chamber of Commerce. They have worked actively in the community, with numerous organization such as; YWCA Hamilton, The Quilt of Belonging, 100in1 Day, Art Crawl, Supercrawl, Tourism Hamilton, Hamilton Small Business Enterprise Centre, HWDSB, and the McMaster Graduate Student Association.
