Amaka Chiwuike-Uba Foundation (ACUF) was established in November 2016 memory of Mrs. Amaka Onyemaechi Chiwuike-Uba, as a non-profit, non-governmental and charitable organisation to continue the very ideals she lived for and to help asthma patients live a better life. Mrs. Amaka Chiwuike-Uba died of asthma exacerbation on July 4, 2016. Mission Statement ACUF is dedicated to improving the quality of life of people; especially, those with asthma and allergic diseases though research, education and training, networking and advocacy. Vision Statement ACUF envision a society with better breathing, better living, and happier, united and prosperous people. Objects/Purpose ACUF is established primarily to: To educate, advocate and provide services for families suffering from asthma to better manage asthma through home assessments, education and training, workshops and community events. To engage in advocacy and education in public policy and legislative settings with emphasis on asthma, anaphylaxis, and other respiratory and health conditions. To mitigate economic and social hardships among Nigerian and African Children, adolescents, youth and the aged. To stimulate and promote collaboration in research, education and innovation on asthma, anaphylaxis, other respiratory and health conditions. ACUF established the following three Centres to facilitate the implementation of various programmes and projects of the Foundation. Centre for Asthma, Allergy and Respiratory Conditions (CAARC) Centre for Innovation, Youth, Rural and Sustainable Development (CIYRSD) Centre for Leadership and Global Education (CeLGE)
