We seek to educate exceptional students both from the US and abroad with an interdisciplinary curriculum focusing on Global Studies, Digital Media Arts, Computer Science and STEAM. Los Angeles offers a wealth of cultural opportunities, and with that, AUP offers a unique high school experience to students. American University Preparatory School (AUP) is an international boarding high school located in the heart of downtown Los Angeles. Our faculty integrate the core classes of math, science, social studies, and English in an extensive Global Studies curriculum to understand global issues. Students create portfolios in Digital Media Arts and Computer Science programs, strengthening their technological competence for the current and future tech-savvy job market. Our students actively engage with the downtown LA community on a number of service oriented projects like handing out water at the annual YMCA stair climb or sorting and packing produce at the Los Angeles Food Bank. AUP is a founding member of Downtown Los Angeles Independent Schools Alliance, creating new pathways for students to have access to additional workshops and classes at the Colburn School, ICL Academy and LA Center Studios, and EEI School of Jazz & Contemporary Music.
