Andra AP-fonden (AP2) is one of five buffer funds within the Swedish pension system, tasked with maximizing long-term return – and at low risk to pension disbursements. A committed asset manager, the Fund invests worldwide, in a wide range of assets like equities, fixed income and real estate. Strategic management model The Fund’s strategic management model is based on financial theory and incorporates long-term forecasts covering demographic, socio-economic and capital-market developments. Integrating sustainability The Fund adopts an active approach to ethical, environmental and corporate governance issues, and has come far in making sustainability integral to portfolio management. Long-term investment requires companies capable of long-term sustainability, enabling them to generate a solid return that can provide a secure buffer for future pensions.
