The inaugural Asia Contemporary Art Show was held in October 2012, and was co-founded by long-time Hong Kong residents and seasoned arts professionals with decades of experience in media, marketing and events: Mark Saunderson, Douwe Cramer and Sarah Benecke. They still own and run the Show, and have subsequently launched Asias leading art website Asia Contemporary Art Buyer (www.asiacontemporaryart.com) and the annual Singapore Contemporary (www.singaporecontemporary.com) In both Spring and Fall, the Show is held at the centrally located Conrad Hong Kong, with four floors of guest rooms that transform into vibrant and engaging living art spaces The events typically feature about 85 exhibitors from 15 to 20 countries in Asia and the world, displaying a diverse collection of over 3,000 artworks and attracting 10,000+ collectors and art buyers More than 50 artists are normally present to meet with and explain their works to collectors and art buyers The Spring edition each year is typically held at the same time as Hong Kong Art Week, the most important week of the year for arts and culture in Hong Kong, and Art Basel Hong Kong. Many thousands of international collectors are in Hong Kong at that time, which ensures a strong international presence at the Show The Fall edition in September is typically the largest dedicated event for contemporary art in Hong Kong in the second half of the year, coinciding with the onset of the Fall art auction season at Sothebys, China Guardian, Poly Auctions and others.
