The Australian Institute of Building Surveyors (AIBS) is recognised nationally and internationally as the peak professional body representing Building Surveyors in Australia. It is a single national company. It is controlled by a national Board of Directors elected from the AIBS Membership. The AIBS has offices and staff in each state to support the efforts of volunteer participants. Staff support the activities of state and national committees and carry out the policies set by the Board. They report to the Chief Executive who is based in the AIBS national office in Sydney. The AIBS is a membership body with over 40 years of experience. It serves the community, the building surveying profession and most importantly the needs of individual Members. It has a strategic National role in representing Members, promoting the profession and providing a range of Member services.
