Australian Sports Professionals Association (ASPA)

The Australian Sports Professionals Association (ASPA) is an industry body for individuals who work in sport in Australia—all the way from administrators of small state/territory sports to CEOs and Board members of large national sports. ASPA has been designed to both compliment and go above and beyond existing forums and exhibitions, by providing: - networking events - training and education opportunities - knowledge sharing sessions - regular industry publications focusing on best practice and actionable case studies - mentoring opportunities - awards and recognition ...for professionals of all levels within our industry. As professionals working in sport, there is a constant message wherever we go, after every conference we attend, whenever we get together: “Everyone in our industry is facing similar challenges. We need to make this easier for ourselves. We need a better, smarter way to connect to and learn from each other.” Every conference we attend is full of talk, but so short on actionable steps. This needs to change, and the industry acknowledges we cannot do this alone. The Australian Sporting Professionals Association promises to bench the traditional echo chambers that have dominated our industry. After years of hearing (and talking) about the lack of knowledge sharing and actionable strategies that can lead to positive change, regardless of the size of budget or organisation, we decided it was time to lead by example. ASPA aims to bring our industry together to establish Australia as a global leader in best practice in managing sporting organisations, to provide increased value to those working in our industry, and to arm the next generation of professionals with a strong network in which to operate.
