AVIA Motors is a traditional Czech engineering company whose roots date back to 1919. Since its inception, it has been devoted mainly to aviation production, after the Second World War, the company expanded into truck production as well. Since the 1960s, trucks have become AVIA's main production program and have been supplied not only to domestic market but also abroad, in large quantities. After 1989 the company changed its owner several times and in 2016 it was acquired by the CZECHOSLOVAK GROUP holding. In September 2017, the new innovative AVIA D-Series vehicle was introduced in the EURO 6 emission class, under the trade name INITIA.
