Basalt Energy

Basalt Energy is a Spanish Energy Resources Development and Consultancy Company with a strong R&D base. We currently participate in the search and development of geothermal energy and coalbed methane. Our goal is to expand to other sources of energy, especially in the renewables sector, to meet a growing demand for energy. We provide consultancy in geoscience, drilling, stimulations, reservoir management, engineering and operations. We specialize in the exploration, appraisal and development of low- and medium-enthalpy GEOTHERMAL resources, including the direct use of heat and electricity generation. On the mid-term, we aim to participate in developing a consortium to design and build an Enhanced Geothermal System in NW Spain. In addition, we participate in the development of COALBED METHANE as an alternative to open-pit mining. This technique helps maintain coal-dependent local economies and employment, as coal mines close due to increased environmental restrictions. As in geothermal, we provide similar consulting services to mining partners and public institutions.
