base4 is developing a single-molecule dna sequencing platform that uses pyrophosphorolysis to release nucleotides one letter at a time from individual fragments of dna. we have developed next-gen microfluidics which allow us to capture these nucleotides after they are released. our proprietary nucleotide detection chemistry allows us to detect, accurately, individual nucleotides in micron-scale droplets and read which letter is present. we are also able to read directly, with no bi-sulphite conversion, whether those nucleotides are methylated.
