Basin Energy Group is focused on providing services and solutions to the midstream segment of the natural gas industry through a collection of best-in-class subsidiary services firms. The company was formed in mid-2014 and came together with the backing of Turning Basin Capital, a private equity firm based in Richmond, VA which has carved out a niche in the lower market space for energy services and solutions related investments in well run companies looking for ways to capitalize on the tremendous opportunities related to the shale gas growth in Appalachia. The business was founded as a holding company focused on finding and growing a broad portfolio of services and solutions companies, primarily in the midstream segment of the rapidly expanding shale gas market in the Marcellus and Utica basins. Basin Energy Group acts as a holding company providing overall strategic direction, back office services and implementation of best practices, and allocation of capital in support of growth for our subsidiary companies. Our first business, ProActive Services is a West Virginia based field services company focused on gathering system operations and maintenance as well as compressor station operations. With over 75 employees and growing, the company serves operators' needs in WV, OH and PA. Our second business, Starett's Well Service (SWS) was added in September 2015. SWS has been operating throughout the Appalachian basin region since 2002 and is based in Clarksburg, WV. They offer a broad array of general roustabout field services for drilling, completions, production and midstream operations and maintenance. In addition they provide containment systems designed to protect the environment from accidental leaks and spills from oil and gas operations.
