Since 1997, BRA has worked fervently to address socio-economic and health disparities of children and their families severely affected by extreme poverty, disease, and hunger. BRA is a member of the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) and has Special Consultative Status with the United Nations. Additionally, BRA partners with local governments, USAID, USDA, UNHCR, Procter and Gamble, aid organizations, and foundations to create safe, productive, and self-sufficient environments through health/HIV and maternal care, food security, disaster relief, women empowerment, and community development programs for vulnerable populations in the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Peru, and the United States.
