Bellepoque is a public music theatre company limited by guarantee. At Bellepoque, we offer a seldom presented European repertoire covering the period from 1890 to 1950, which focuses on operettas, cabaret and art songs. Our main goal is to create new work, by using the music repertoire of the past and setting it within the frame of original plays which are written for the company. We wish to trigger the creative exploration as well as a re-definition of styles and genres and make them more accessible to contemporary audiences. We also create a new platform for talents based in Singapore, offering them professional exposure as well as a new learning experience. We believe in sharing know-how and the experience of art with the wider audience possible, therefore we strive to offer workshops and master classes to schools and cultural institutions, as well as to offer educational projects as part of our outreach programs. How we do it: we create original theatre productions - Conceptualize and implement arts outreach programs on behalf of Singapore National Arts Council - Produce the shows, from securing private sponsoring and public grants to managing the budget we drive the communication campaigns (printed press, online communication, social media) we source and coordinate suppliers and contractors we manage artists and technical crew (10 to 15) Things to be proud of: -Creation and production of more than 10 main shows within 6 years, -Creation of original scripts and premiere of rare music repertoire -Very positive shows reviews on Straits Times, on specialised blogs (TheMadScene; PoachedMag; Pianofortephilia)
