In 1998 Bentley Fielden introduced the Mart Cart to the UK. Already established in the US, the Mart Cart is the industry leading electric shopping cart that allows disabled and elderly shoppers assistance around their local store. The UK’s four leading supermarket chains were all early adopters of the Mart Cart and continue to purchase the unit from Bentley Fielden through to today. The Mobilift wheelchair lift was introduced into the UK by Bentley Fielden in 2003 when the first unit was imported from Canada. Designed to allow wheelchair access to staging areas, the Mobilift is a fully portable unit that can easily be wheeled in and out of position. With a total lift height of 1.5m, it has proved invaluable across all sectors, from either an outright purchase perspective where long term day to day use is required, to one off hiring where an event has a difficult to access stage. As a result of demand borne out of the Disability Discrimination Act , Bentley Fielden were one of the first companies to offer a specialised website that only offered access products, allowing us to focus specifically on a customer’s requirements due to our extensive knowledge of access issues. In 2006, Bentley Fielden introduced the Mattress genie to the UK. Already a huge success in the US, the Mattress genie offered a low cost and easy to install alternative to an electric bed. The product has gone from strength to strength and is sold to both Local Authorities and online retailers who specialise in healthcare solutions.
