OUR STORY When Ellen met Ahmed in Norway, he shared his familys greatest secret: the recipe for grandmother Fatous delicious ginger and lemon juice, famed throughout his Ivory Coast village for its zingy taste, health benefits, and powerful fiery kick. It worked even better than he hoped, for Ellen and Ahmed quickly fell in love, and soon their own children were marveling at Mama Fatous drink which kept them warm through Norways cold winters, and pepped them up with energy during its long summer days. When the family moved to Canada, they decided to share their secret with their new homeland. So they launched Gingo in 2009, artisanally-made in Montreal, and the taste caught fire across Quebec. As its fame spread, they created two new exciting ginger experiences with Gingo Green Tea and Gingo Apple. And this is just the beginning. Not that its success would surprise Mama Fatou. She always knew her drink was special, and why. As she once told Ahmed, its the ginger that gives you life.
