In the United States, one of the greatest challenges experienced by individuals with disabilities is employment. Texas is no exceptionyet! Research indicates that employer attitudes and misconceptions are at the root of this hindrance. Specifically, findings indicate that employers have an incorrect perception of the abilities of individuals with disabilities and the costs associated with the provision of accommodations. In fact, when a disabled job seeker is properly matched to a career, their disability may have no affect at all on job performance. Custom Career Placement Specialists (CCPS) is a community rehabilitation program contracted by the state of Texas to provide disabled individuals assistance in finding and maintaining employment. Our mission is to ensure that Texas is a state where people with disabilities enjoy the same opportunities as all other Texans. Our services provide the means for disabled individuals to live independent and productive lives.
