City Centre Care Society and its predecessor Central City Mission Society have been caring for residents of the Downtown Eastside for over a hundred years. City Centre Care Society operates Central City Lodge and Cooper Place serving approximately 200 clients concurrently in four licensed residential programs. Central City Lodge at 415 West Pender at Homer provides: 1. An Addiction Recovery Program for 22 adult males in a 90 day residential program. 2. A Complex Residential Care program for 74 clients with 24 hour/day Registered Nurses and other professionals such as Dietitians, Physiotherapists, and Recreation Therapists. 3. A Special Care Unit for 26 persons with Dementia such as Alzheimer Disease and Mental Illness. Cooper Place at 306 East Cordova at Gore provides Assisted Care with nurses and is licensed for 72 clients.
