Every Child Needs A Champion. Every Champion Needs Support. Our mission is to inspire, inform, and support individuals and families caring for children and youth touched by foster care and adoption. Families who use the Coalition services have: -->Increased access to and use of resources -->A stronger network of support -->Improved confidence in their ability to be a no matter what family Because of our work, foster and adoptive families are strong and resilientthey are flexible, accepting, able to celebrate each victory, and endure lifelong. As a trusted and continuing presence through every stage of a familys foster or adoption experience, the Coalition is in the unique position of being an advocate for the children most in need of connection, a coach for foster and adoptive families to achieve resilience, and a leader in the states foster care and adoption ecosystem. Our fundamental purpose is to strengthen foster and adoptive families, equipping them with the tools and resources they need to continually move toward resilience and stability. Many children in the foster and adoption system have faced traumas in their early lives, and the effects of these traumas follow these children into their new families, surfacing as behaviors that can be perplexing, disruptive, and even heartbreaking. As wonderful and rewarding as parenting these children can be, the process sometimes demands heroic efforts by parents. The stress can build up, sometimes leaving parents feeling like theyre out of answers, helpless, and alone.
