A clinical trial is a research study of a medication, device or technology that is used to treat a particular medical condition in a particular population of people. The purpose of these studies is to find out whether an investigational medication is safe to use and effective for treatment of various medical conditions, or to compare existing medications that have been approved for the treatment of a particular condition. At Coastal Connecticut Research, we review many trials for medications involving women’s health. We strive to bring to our community trials that are respectful of the needs of our patients, and that will be likely to provide beneficial information to the medical community. These trials are sponsored by major pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, and are all approved by the FDA.
