Coastal Marine Asia (L) Limited (Coastal) is a company dedicated to the insurance needs of ship-owners in the Far East operating vessels in coastal and inter-island trade, often referred to as “brown water” as opposed to “blue water” business. The company is regulated by the Labuan Financial Services Authority and operates from Central Plaza in the Bukit Bintang area of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia close to the Raja Chulan monorail station, the Pavilion shopping mall and all the five star hotels. We act as underwriting consultants and agents for certain insurers and reinsurers and we generate our business via strategic partnerships in each target territory. Many of our cedants and brokers have known the Coastal partners for many years and appreciate the value of long term relationships that enable solutions to be found for books of business, schemes and affinity/association style business, which is where Coastal can really add measurable value.
