Coexist Athletics

Helping people with disabilities have fun while being active! Coexist Athletics aims to engage everyone with a disability in the Pittsburgh region in activity and sport. Coexist Athletics has a network of adaptive trainers who can help you or your team work towards your goals. We also provide trainings and presentations for businesses, schools, and current or new volunteers . Management support for teams can be a limiting factor for growth and training. Programming for adaptive sports can be simplified for teams through Coexist Athletics management for event logistics, volunteer support, and coaching staff. The long-term vision is to bolster the Pittsburgh community by building an adaptive sports complex for people of all abilities to train together. By creating a location where all adaptive programming can occur, teams and individuals will have a home base with priority training time and athletes will be able to build an even stronger community with easily accessible options for a variety of activities. Able-body members (people without disabilities) are an important part of adaptive sports and recreation. We hope to create a community that unites able-body & adaptive athletes and encourages involvement/volunteering in sports programming. This will help provide adequate support for adaptive programming and increase disability awareness in the able-bodied community.
