The College of Dietitians of Ontario is a self-regulatory authority responsible for the registration and governance of dietitians in Ontario. It was founded through the Dietetics Act, 1991, and became a regulatory body on December 31, 1993. Its mandate under the Regulated Health Professions Act, 1991, and the Dietetics Act, 1991, is to regulate the profession of dietetics in Ontario in the interest of the public and public protection.
