Columbus Community Center

transforming lives of individuals with disabilities since 1968

Individual And Family Services
Salt Lake City, utah
Founded in 1968
51-200 employees

columbus was founded in 1968 by a group of parents looking for a community-based program for their children with disabilities. they were a visionary group with some practical issues that they were tackling in their lives. in the beginning, the center survived and thrived because parents provided financial support, facility maintenance, and program supervision. it was a labor of love for the ones they loved. today, columbus is recognized locally and nationally as a well-established, innovative nonprofit agency. we work strategically with many stakeholders to support individuals with disabilities so they can make informed decisions and live with independence in the community. after 45 years of serving thousands of individuals, we are still finding innovative ways to provide this special population with the skills to live independently in our community.
