Welcome to Community Montessori School! For 35 years, CMS has been providing families in the Georgetown, Round Rock, Austin area an outstanding educational experience. Our spacious 18-acre campus serves children from 8 weeks to 12 years of age. MONTESSORI PROGRAMS Children in Montessori classrooms engage daily with materials scientifically designed to meet the interests and needs of their particular stage of development. The mixed age groups in the classrooms enable children to gain collaborative and communication skills, confidence, independence, and responsibility. Additionally, CMS beautiful and spacious campus provides outdoor learning opportunities that instill a love and respect for nature. WHAT MAKES US CMS? Our Montessori trained Guides bring the vision of Maria Montessori to life every day. Each classroom environment at CMS holds the full complement of Montessori materials for that age level. Weve been educating the whole child since 1981. WHO IS MARIA MONTESSORI? Maria Montessori was an Italian physician, educator & innovator who developed an educational method which follows the way children naturally learn & develop. Dr. Montessori opened her first school the Casa dei Bambini or Childrens House in 1907 in the city of Rome. Internationally acclaimed for the success of her method, Dr. Montessori traveled the world, writing extensively about her educational approach and training others in her method, until her death in 1952. There are now more than 4,000 Montessori schools in the United States and Maria Montessoris method is embraced and practiced in at least 110 countries worldwide.
