Community Supported Film

Community Supported Films mission as a not-for-profit organization is to integrate training, storytelling and awareness building by: - Training storytellers from poor and developing communities in non-fiction filmmaking and assisting them with the development of their careers as filmmakers and video-journalists - Producing engaging stories from the trainees perspective about important social and economic development issues in their communities. These stories counteract the relentless focus of the western media on battlefronts, crises and disasters. - Building a bridge between the community of filmmakers, communities in development and an international community of concerned citizens. This conversation raises awareness about sustainable paths to a more peaceful and equitable world. Community Supported Film (CSFilm) strengthens the documentary storytelling capacity in countries where the dissemination of objective and accurate information is essential to stabilization and development. CSFilm trains local men and women in video-journalism and documentary filmmaking so that they can tell stories rooted in their reality to better influence local and international views on sustainable paths to a more peaceful and equitable world.
