Comprehensive provides Early Care and Education, Nutrition, and Family Services to the Long Beach and Los Angeles community. Founded in 1984, Comprehensive has grown from serving a handful of children, to serving 400 children a day through our Early Care and Education Centers and Network of Family Child Care Homes. We understand a healthy and stable home and community provides the best environment for children, and it is our mission to empower children and their families by providing a strong foundation through Early Care and Education. We serve our communities through two pillar programs: Early Childhood Education and Care and our Nutritious Meal Program. Eligible families either receive child protective services, Public Assistance, are designated low-income eligible based on California Department of Education standards or are homeless. CCD works to create healthy families while giving children the tools and building blocks necessary to create strong foundations to thrive in school and life.
