Connections Individual and Family Services, Inc.

Our Mission: Strengthening communities, one youth and one family at a time. Our Vision: We envision a community where every individual feels safe, is empowered to make positive life changes, and has the opportunity to lead a meaningful life. Our Values: Compassionate. Committed. Connected. Our Story: Connections was founded in 1981 to provide shelter for at-risk and homeless youth with nowhere else to turn. What started as a children’s shelter has since expanded to include a transitional living home, counseling initiatives, and prevention programming.  Agency services are aimed at altering the pattern of abuse that exists across generations, giving families the tools needed to grow together, and decreasing risk factors that lead to homelessness. Connections provides a safe home to displaced youth while simultaneously working with families to decrease the number of children being displaced. The goal is not simply to help the victims; but to address what made them victims in the first place. This comprehensive approach to service is evident in the agency’s mission which is “strengthening communities, one youth and one family at a time.”
