The Consortium for the Research in Automation and Telecommunication (CRAT) was founded in 2006 on the initiative of Prof. Francesco Delli Priscoli and Roberto Cusani with the involvement of Prof. Alberto Isidori and Eng. Manlio Proia. The consortium is currently composed by the universities University of Rome "La Sapienza"​, Politecnico di Bari, University of Sannio and the companies Thales Alenia Space Italia and TopNetwork. CRAT is mainly engaged in Telecommunication Systems, both terrestrial and satellite, Computer Systems and Energy Systems. In addition CRAT: - Takes part in national and international research projects (European projects) - Carries out applied research on behalf of companies or public and private institutions
