Construction Training Fund

We work to create a skilled, diverse and sustainable building and construction workforce for Western Australia. We collect a training levy from jobs over $20,000 in WA, and use these funds to reduce the cost of training a diverse, job-ready workforce and educate the next generation about the exciting roles and opportunities in the construction industry. Construction employers, employees, apprentices and trainees can access funding and incentives to assist in training and upskilling. We also support the next generation of WA’s construction workforce with career pathways and industry insights. We provide scholarships for school-aged people to begin their pre-apprenticeship, and support real-world construction experience through our Try-A-Trade program. Resources are available to learn about careers in the construction industry in both in the school environment and at our fully interactive Construction Futures Centre located at our Belmont headquarters. Learn about how we can support you by heading to our website. It came into being as the Building and Construction Industry Training Fund under the Building and Construction Industry Training Fund and Levy Collection Act 1990 and changed its name to Construction Training Fund in 2019. CTF is managed by a Board of industry representatives appointed by the Minister for Education and Training, led by Board Chair, Reg Howard-Smith. The CTF team consists of experienced industry professionals, trained to assist our stakeholders in areas such as levy payments, eligibility, how to claim available grants and subsidies, available training initiatives, pre-apprenticeship options, career pathways and industry insights.
