We are the statutory body for consumers in Northern Ireland. We are responsible for protecting, empowering, understanding and representing consumers. We are a non-departmental public body, supported by the Department for the Economy. We have a statutory remit to represent the interests of consumers, with specific functions in relation to energy, water, transport, postal services, and food. In representing consumers we handle their complaints and enquiries, carry out research, and educate and inform them regarding their rights and responsibilities. We ensure policy makers hear the voice of consumers and take it into account when making decisions that affect us all.
