Coverbox is a telematics or "black box"​ online car insurance broker; the consumer-facing brand of Coverbox Insure Limited. As an emerging market, telematics car insurance is widely expected to become mainstream within the next few years: what makes Coverbox different is the advanced nature of our own technology, something customers would never actually be aware of unless something went wrong. Most of the time our technology is invisibly watching out for our customers, simply sharing journeys made with them on their dashboards, to encourage good driving. But if something does go wrong it’s there, allowing us to recall the journeys made by their car, to protect or support. The technology assists resolution of a claim, often far more quickly than is usual. Time, in insurance, is money. Less time negotiating between insurers, engaging in investigations and administration means less cost incurred, so potentially lower insurance premiums for the customer and reduced claims for the insurer. So how do we do this? Our virtual technology puts our claims handlers at the scene, with a photographic view of the location, and supporting data confirming location, speed, date, times and movement of a vehicle involved in an incident, providing evidence of the sequence of events before, during and after a collision.
