covid-19 student reform coalition

The Covid-19 Student Outreach Coalition is a group of collegiate and graduate students who are advocating for the equitable and fair treatment of students by college administrations during the COVID-19 outbreak. It is our mission to ensure that students are provided the proper treatment, housing, and financial stability necessary to combat COVID-19 efficiently and effectively. The Spring 2020 semester was abruptly cut short for a majority of students across the United States. As of March 19, 2020, over 35 States have closed schools for varying time periods. The forced closures have led to collegiate and graduate students trying to adapt to online classes. While we are grateful to the administrators across the nation for their flexibility and desire to keep our academic careers on track, more needs to be done to ensure the proper treatment, housing, and financial stability for the millions of students that have been thrown into disarray. The United States Congress is working on a one trillion dollar stimulus package to help industries weather the economic storm caused by COVID-19; however, collegiate and graduate students have been left to fend for ourselves. Universities across the nation have forced us out of our on-campus housing and closed down on-campus resources essential to our learning. In order to help students weather this storm as well, we are advocating for actions to be taken
