CPI Foundation

CPI (The Concrete Preservation Institute) is a nationwide non-profit foundation that serves as an official U.S. military active duty Career Skills Program, partner of the National Park Service, and partner of concrete and construction companies who sponsor our programs and hire our alumni. Thanks to the support of grants, sponsorships and donations, CPI is helping more veterans transition every year, while preserving some of our nations most important historical sites. Our Field School locations are Alcatraz Island and Pearl Harbor, popular National Park locations facing similar deferred maintenance issues also plaguing overall US infrastructure. CPI completes Park projects that may not otherwise be undertaken, preserving iconic structures and increasing access for staff and visitors. We are a full-time, continuous stewardship force bringing expertise, peoplepower, and industry leading technology to Parks. We are extending our outreach to more military bases, and our Field Schools to additional landmarks and public sites. We offer three full-time, 12week sessions at each location per year. Field School participants are active duty service members who gain in-depth, hands-on training for all types of industry careers while completing deferred maintenance projects in National Parks. Our Career Placement Program connects these and other soon-to-be veterans to civilian careers in the growing and critical building/infrastructure sector of the U.S. economy. Active duty service members transitioning out from all branches of the military may apply to our programs. Career Placement is included in our Field Schools, and other transitioning service members may apply directly to our Career Placement Program. All participants gain an understanding of how their military experience can lead to rewarding, lifelong careers in the growing and critical sector of the U.S. economy responsible for designing, building, and maintaining structures and infrastructure.
