Cranstons Quality Butchers was established in 1914 by the current Directors Great Uncle, Stanley Cranston, who developed a reputation for selling the top quality meat products in the Eden Valley from his horse and cart. Things have changed a little since then. Brothers Philip and Roger Cranston, assisted by Retail Director Martin Jones, now oversee a thriving retail network, including Food Halls at Penrith, Carlisle, Orton Grange AND bRAMPTON two traditional butchers shops in Penrith and Hexham, an online shop and a busy central production unit. Our customers trust us to find the finest quality meat and produce, prepare it with traditional skill and the latest techniques, to offer the very best service. Cranstons is currently a regional finalist in the Best Rural Food Business category of the 2018 Rural Business Awards and our flagship Cumbrian Food Hall has been shortlisted for the Guild of Fine Foods 2018 Top Shop Awards.
