CT-Payment is Canada’s largest debit and credit card processing company that is fully independent of Canadian financial institutions and acquirers. As an Interac® member and a debit acquirer, CT-Payment is exclusively dedicated to serving the interests of public and/or private businesses for their electronic payment needs. More fundamentally because CT-Payment is independent, and thanks to its multi-acquirer platform, merchants and retailers are guaranteed a partner who is dedicated to defending their interests and who shares their vision of the need for competition in the market economy. With Ct-Payment, a merchant will be able to change acquirer or financial institution whenever they want in order to get a better discount rate, without changing or impacting their point of sale environment. This means that, once a merchant becomes a CT-Payment customer for their debit card processing, they will no longer be forced to change their POS terminal if they decide to change their acquirer or financial institution for their credit card rates. By simply switching their transaction processing to CT-Payment, changing financial institutions or acquirers will now be effortless for merchants. Therefore signing long-term agreements will no longer be necessary. On the contrary, agreements of two years and less will make it possible to test the market more often, sharpen competition and lower merchant discount rates.
