Davis Chamber of Commerce

The Davis Chamber of Commerce is a membership organization whose mission is to promote, support, and advocate the general economic vitality of its membership and the quality of life for the community. The Chamber was originally formed in 1905 by a few local businessmen, in order to attract the University Farm School (now known as UC Davis) to this agricultural community. The “town-gown” relationship has been a strong and vital one ever since. At the core of our city is a friendly, lively downtown business district. Residents and visitors alike enjoy the variety and quality of our shopping, dining and cultural pursuits. The university and the downtown are seamlessly joined and activities, events and people flow effortlessly between them. The Chamber has a membership of over 700 local businesses. Some are in the downtown area, and others are located in the greater Davis area and beyond. Our Chamber is a vibrant business organization which reflects the vitality, education, community involvement, and quality of life characteristics of our locale.
