Detroit SHRM

Detroit SHRM is the largest Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM)-affiliated chapter in Michigan with members representing diverse companies located in Southeast Michigan, within Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties. Our membership includes practitioners in all HR disciplines and professional levels ranging from senior human resources officers to mid-level managers and specialists, individuals practicing as HR departments of one, and students. Detroit SHRM's vision is to be recognized and respected as one of the premier associations of HR professionals. Our mission is to advance the human resources profession within Southeastern Michigan and foster the development of human resources professionals as organizational leaders. Detroit SHRM’s efforts to advance its mission include: the promotion of voluntary member interchange; observance of ethical and professional standards; conducting meetings and workshops on relevant human resources topics and issues; communication of our purpose and activities to the broader business community; and cooperation with the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) and other SHRM professional and student chapters and related human resources organizations as well as the community involvement of our membership.
