Ekstraklasa SA is a joint-stock company established on June 14, 2005, as a result of an agreement between the Polish Football Association (PZPN) and football clubs participating in the first division, which were the initiators of creating a professional league. The shareholders of the company include 18 clubs from the top tier of the league (each holding 5.1555% of shares), collectively owning 92.799% of the company’s shares. The remaining 7.201% of shares are held by the Polish Football Association (PZPN).
