Energy & Resources Law Association

Energy and Resources Law Association (ER Law) is a not for profit membership organisation for lawyers practising across the resources and energy space. ER Law is the only organisation solely focused on the provision of cutting edge, relevant and practical education for resources and energy lawyers in Australia and abroad. ER Law was formed over 40 years ago as resources and energy lawyers realised that the best way to be at the forefront of their field, was to learn from their peers doing the deals. ER Law’s core activities include: > A world class annual conference > Publication of an academic quality journal > Provision of webinars > Model documents > Face to face events hosted by each branch. Experts educating experts is the hallmark of ER Law with all those involved doing so on a volunteer basis because of their passion for the sector. Our educational content is driven by the needs of practising resources and energy lawyers. Our members include leading practitioners from: > Inhouse > Private practice > Government > Land councils and > Regulators. ER Law does not undertake lobbying or advocacy, though does contribute, at both the national and state level, to reviews of legislation and regulations, as well as government guidelines and practice notes. ER Law has branches in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia and Chile. Each of these branches hosts educational master classes, seminars and workshops throughout the year, with Queensland and Western Australia also hosting one-day branch conferences.
