Energyinnovationcentre

The Energy Innovation Centre supports the innovation ambition of the UKs energy networks by seeking out technologies and solutions that have the potential to benefit customers, improve health and safety, increase efficiency and reduce energy costs. We do this by connecting our thriving community of UK and international innovators to crucial investment and insight from our industry partners: SP Energy Networks, SSE PD, Northern Powergrid, UK Power Networks, Electricity North West, National Grid Gas, SGN, Northern Gas Networks, Wales and West Utilities and Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult. In 2014/15, we facilitated investment of approximately £4 Million into innovation projects, generated 252 new leads, created 16 electricity innovation projects, 13 gas innovation projects and 2 cross-utility projects. Going forward, we are committed to working with our industry partners to realise our vision for collaborative strategic innovation which will deliver the transformational change that the sector needs.
