The story of engelbert strauss begins in 1948, at least that’s according to the half-faded document in our office vault. Really, though, the story begins generations before that, back when our great-great-great grandfathers roamed across fairy tale Germany trading fruits and vegetables and brooms to the local villagers, Cinderellas, and occasional princes trapped as frogs. Some hundreds of years and many generations later, our family has gone from trading the brooms to making the brooms and to becoming the market leader in workwear. Today, with a workforce of 1,400 people in 10 offices across Europe, engelbert strauss employs cutting-edge technologies, state-of-the-art manufacturing, and in-house craftsmanship to engineer the future of not only workwear but a whole new generation of technical attire. Our campus, located among the fairy foothills (Snow White literally grew up just around the corner… so, please, watch out for any stray apples) of Biebergemünd / Frankfurt am Main, is the breeding ground not only for our Strauss ostrich but, more importantly, for the creative ideas, new trends, and cutting-edge products that drive our collections. We like to think we’re much more than some German textile technicians with cutesy accents and a penchant for a well-crafted shirt. We’re designers, developers, and engineers. We’re also IT pros, HR gurus, and marketing nerds. We don’t simply want the next Einstein - though, if you are Einstein, we have some equations for you to solve. But, we want passionate, self-driven individuals, unafraid to be themselves, probably enjoy a lot of pizza, and are excited to build the future for our sustainable, high-quality attire.
