We also seek to raise greater public awareness of the unique challenges these children face whilst growing up. What is Equal Education? Equal Education is a social enterprise that is committed to improving educational outcomes for those in care. We believe that collaborating directly with frontline teachers and social workers to develop technology that helps improve outcomes. Why is Equal Education working with Children's Services? To demonstrate that teacher/social worker-led, privacy-conscious innovation in education technology can help those on the ground focus on providing the best possible outcomes. We deeply believe in these partnerships and want to prove that this model improves children’s lives and teachers’ working environments, while also meeting the highest privacy and ethical standards. What do you mean by teacher/social worker-led technology development? Past technology implementations in education and social services have typically been top-down Government-wide deployments, which aren’t always aligned with frontline needs. Teachers and social workers are the real experts at identifying challenges in young people’s education, and how these obstacles could be overcome with new technology. If we can work directly with these teacher and social workers to co-develop technology and help it scale, we believe we can have a huge impact.
