Ex-IT provides IT services to organizations who need a high level of technical or management expertise yet cannot afford full time people. We've been there - done that - for most IT projects. We also provide coaching and mentoring services to professionals and leaders working within Information Technology. We do this because we know that IT teams everywhere have an incredibly difficult time translating what they know into a form the business can use. They need help, and if you are in IT, you need help. As a former IT consultant, manager, project manager, instructor and certifiable subject matter expert (MCNE, MCNI, MSCE) I have some understanding of where you are coming from. IT guru’s and geeks of all types have an incredibly hard time acknowledging that other people (who are not as clever as they are) need to use their beloved technology. When such a person is transitioned into IT leadership, they are often hopelessly lost. They haven’t got any idea how to manage themselves, never mind the folks they now lead. That’s a recipe for disaster repeated all around the world. TV shows like “The IT Crowd” are not exaggerating. IT people really are different than their users. As a result, it is the rare normal consumer of IT in a corporation who can say “The IT department is great!
