"If I can improve the life of one other person, then my life has been of value" - Rebecca Robyns EYESeeMe project was born from a love of photography and founded by humanitarian photographer Rebecca Robyns. Rebecca realised through her work documenting the lives of disadvantaged children in Southeast Asia that the children were both fascinated and curious about her camera and images and were keen to participate in their own story. In 2015 Rebecca set up this project which has worked in Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Nepal. The children's images have exhibited in the U.K and used as both a means of creating awareness and to to raise vital funds for the projects they represent. As a young charity, we are continually learning and expanding into new areas of research as well as trying to improve what we do. Our primary objective is to support children through education and to keep them safe so that they may enjoy a childhood free from suffering. With Burmese ancestry, Rebecca has strong links to this region and the welfare of its children. We have 12 blue Nikon cameras that translate into over 30 different languages allowing everyone to learn very quickly. The purpose of the class aside from taking pictures and learning the basics is to show how children can use their images as a form of story telling and a tool for social change. The children that we work with have all had their challenges coming from some of the most traumatised backgrounds yet when given a camera they seem to stand taller and have real pride and joy in their work. EYESeeMe project has two active projects in Thailand and Bangladesh. Please get in touch if you would like to host an exhibition, talk about our work or support us.
